Hanging out with the motion mobile
this cute motion mobile was a present from Aunt Chris from NZ. didi didn't pay any attention to it till yesterday. He now likes to hang out with all the little animals before he dozes off, how very convenient for mom! ^_^

How much to feed didi?
Called the hotline of Wyeth and the nurse thinks I am feeding too much formula to didi. She recommended that a new born who is around 6 weeks old should only be fed 4 oz every 4 hours. Let me try this and see if didi starves.
Had a hard time getting didi to sleep this afternoon. I think he is just too tired from fighting "not wanna fall asleep" and now sleeps like an angel.

* Didi weighed 3.05 kg when he was born.
* The next day, he weighed 2.95kg as the nurse told us that new borns tend to lose weight because they will get ride of excess water in their bodies after birth.
* 20 days after birth, he weighed 3.63 kg, which means didi has made great progress and all the credits go to S26...since mom is really short in the "mommy milk" department.
* 35 days after birth, didi weighed 4.36 kg, nurse patted us on the shoulders and said "Great job, mom and dad".
* Haven't been to any check up recently, so I weighed didi at home using a very "smart" way invented by me! I first step on the scale carrying didi and weighed the both of us. After that, I weighed myself without didi. The first weight result subtracts the second weight result becomes didi's weight! Of course I take a few pounds off just to be more "accurate" as didi was fully dressed and with his wet nappy on. The result, I think didi weighs around 5kg now. =D
HOW MUCH TO FEED YOUR NEW BORN
According to the info I have obtained, parents should feed their babies 2.5 oz of milk for every pound he weights. Say, didi is now 5kg= 11 pounds , 11x2.5oz = 27.5 oz per day. Meaning, each feeding, he should take in around 4.6 oz of milk each meal (based on 6 feedings per day).

Welcome home...
A month ago, we welcomed didi home and started our crazy life...some people called it PARENTHOOD... =P
During the month, we have experienced all sorts of emotions while rasing a new born...frastration when he cries non-stop, hopless when we don't know what to do to make him stop crying...
A month later, we got to know didi a lot better and are able to even tell what his cries mean. I don't feel so hopless any more and start to enjoy this thing called PARENTHOOD.
My dearest hubby, I know I yell at you sometimes when I am frastrated...but I appreciate your help and thank you so much for being a wonderful dad for didi and a supportive hubby for me...
