Elmo

Elmo?

Last night and the weekend

maMi was giving didi some tofu by cutting them into small cubes and put them in didi's plate so that he could feed himself. Obviously, the cubes were a bit too big then, before mami knew it, didi was coughing up chocking. maMi got so neverous and start to pound on didi's back trying to get the cube out of this throat but it didn't seem to work, so she poked her right indext finger into didi's throat trying to get the cube out. When she reached something round in didi's mouth, she gave it two big pull trying to get it out but suddenly realized that it wasn't tofu, it was didi's throat! ai ya ya... by this time, didi was crying very hard and maMi felt mega guilty. maMi does not have long nails and did not think she scratched didi's throat though.

I hope this didn't do any damage la...ai...My biggest worry is now he will wake up with a sore throat...What a scary thing that has happened...

Last weekend and yesterday...

maMi took didi to central on the MTR for the eye check up performed by daDi on didi. Went to the ifc mall and ran around like nobody's business. visited pacific coffee because didi was dozing off but the second we reached there and put him on the sofa he was awake! so, we had to share our coffee with didi, haha, he sipped and sipped and sipped but most of the time it was just air!

took the mtr ride home with dadi and mami, and didi of course did not miss the opportunity to check the mtr train out, the people, the overhead screen, the hanging holders...so busy and so much fun.

yesterday, didi went to a mall with mami and dad to meet jessica and her mom. while we waited, he had a flight simulation lesson with great success although mamai didn't enter any coins, haha, that's why we call it a success!

Which school?

School Life
It has come to the time when we must seriously consider which school system we would like didi to be in: local or international.

After quite a few sessions at the playgroup, maMi noticed that didi is probably the happiest kid in his class because he screams and dances to the music all the time. However, this also means it can be difficult for the teacher or me to get him to sit still like other kids in the class since they are all older than didi. didi doesn't like art class that much but enjoys his music class tremendously that he runs around and does his funky dances when he is up there in the music room.

Time is almost up and it really is about time for us to make our final decision now. The preliminary idea is that we will most likely send him to a local school as we think the ability of a kid in reading/speaking/writing Chinese will be far more important than having him speaking English with a perfect British or American accent. I mean, language is a medium of communication and as long as you can speak it fluently, it really doesn't matter what kind of accent you have. After all, this is a global village and I am sure he will be a confident guy who knows to look at this world with an open mind and be kind to people of different races, and speaking different languages.

On the other hand, some might tell me that kids from international school system are trained with skills to think and solve things more independently and more confidents than kids from local school sytem. I am sure that's true but I believe that with proper assistance, we will try our best to help didi in gaining those positive attributes too. It will involve a lot of thinking and work, but definitely worth trying.

Sweet little boy

didi has showed us how sweet and gentle he is today...

cousin jovi came to visit and you know kids, a second ago they are giggling and playing, the next second they could be fighting over toys. didi got knocked over by accident and this has resulted in crying (didi's part) and told off (jovi's part by her mom). Poor jovi felt sad because I think she probably didn't mean to knock didi over, so she cried as well. At this point, didi has already stopped crying and I carried him over to jovi to comfort her. Guess what didi did? He raised his little right hand and gave jovi a little pat on her head, attempting to calm her down.

That was one of the sweetest things that didi has done so far, he tried to cover mami and dadi with blankets in two separate incidents while we were resting on the sofa. This little guy has a little tender heart all inside him...

Play date
While jovi was getting a Chinese Kongfu lesson from dadi, didi was busy running around, but he got a few poses right by observing. Too bad it wasn't caught by the campera. Just while Jovi was thinking "boy, this kongfu stuff isn't easy", didi was busy playing with his plastic pumpkin head.

BigStoryTime.com

This will has to be one of the coolest things I have found on the internet. Didi and maMi have recently become fans of Sandra Boynton, who has published various books with lively characters and great rhymes. Pajama Time will has to be our new found bed time story and didi loves it! Tonight, after didi went to bed, maMi found this website called the bigstorytime.com, where there are clips of little kids reading story books, so cute! I thought I must share this with everyone!
