Little spy

Not only my boy would tell me to work so that he can go to Hokkaido, he is a little spy who checks on me to see if I am really working, or just playing with my pet on facebook...

Today I was working on the dining table when he came home from school. He gave me a really bright smile when he saw me of course. That really melted my heart. After that, he moved quickly up to me to see what was on my computer screen. Luckily enough it was my word document, not Pet Society! Phew...

Then he started to investigate what I was working on, which happened to be a piece on the Michelin Guide launched in Hong Kong last year. He pointed his little finger to the word "Hong Kong" and read it aloud "Hong Kong". Wow, when did he learn that? I was over the moon with joy. As though he wanted to impress mommy even more, he looked really hard and saw another word that he recognized and pointed his little finger on the word and proudly said it aloud "and"!

hoo hoo hoo, my boy really can read!

Decision is final

maMi is going back to work full-time starting April 2009. This is a hard decision as I do value the time I spend with didi but at the same time we want to maintain a stable income during this economy down turn.

That means, each night I am going to make sure that I focus just on him when I come home from work. Give him a bath, read him stories so that he still thinks I am his best buddy in the world!

During the weekends, I will have to make sure he has my 100% attention so that he doesn't grow up missing mommy just because mommy went back to work.

But with my track record, my longest permanent job never lasts longer than 2 years, let's all see how long this one last me...

Shall I?

maMi is still contemplating whether to return to work force full time or keep freelancing. There are pros and cons for each option but she thinks didi should have some say in this.

maMi: didi, do you want maMi to go to office and work for a long time or a short time.
didi: i want you to stay at home all the time.
maMi: but if you want to go to Hokkaido, maMi has to make money...
(held maMi's hand and dragged her to the desk and sat her down in front of her computer)
didi: you work here, make money here!

This is a double decker bus made by didi at school. What's that yellow thing on top? According to the artist, it is something for the smoke to come out.
err...so is this a bus or a train? It doesn't seem to bother the "artist" himself.

At school, the teachers would talk to the kid about their "creations" and wrote them down on the post-it so that kids can take them home and parents would have some idea that their kids have been doing at school. So, we learned that this double decker is actually on its Hong Kong-China route, haha...

Mom, mind your own business

didi came into the bedroom singing "i wanna go wee wee, i wanna go poopoo today~~~"
So I quickly followed him into the toilet trying to help him put on the small toilet cover so that he could sit down.
Then, he started "pushing" and I was looking at him...admiring this little boy of mine...how he has turned into a boy from a wee baby...
I had a smile on my face...

And then he opened his mouth and said "mommy, i am going to mell..."
I did not understand what he was trying to say, so I said "what do you mean?"
Then he said "I am going to stink..." and looked at me, hinting I should really leave the room.

Well, he really has grown so much, he needs privacy when he does his BUSINESS...

What's this?

What's this?
Didi had this for months and we had a hard time getting it out from his...EAR!!!
Yup, jumbo-sized ear waxes that were stuck in his ears for a long time!
I finally dig them out with an ear pick after the ear drops have soften them in both ears.
They were HUGE...
We were told never to touch kid's ear waxes as they will fall out all by themselves, apparently not true loh~~~
