A waiting game...

I am still waiting for didi's first meaningful word...(well, he says Aiya a lot of time...but I am not sure if Aiya counts as a meaningful word though)

Although he does not "really" talk yet, he acts as if he can and recently learned how to sing (or hum) at least two songs. One of them is the ABC song. Why do I know it is the ABC song, not Twinkle Twinkle Little Star? Because the L M N O P part is very clear, not that he says exactly these letters but you can tell from the whole thing.

I have done quite a bit of research on kids with speech delay. Well, the studies show that if a kid does not really say anything till he/she is 2, then the parents should really be concerned. Also, if the kid (1)uses baby language, (2) makes sounds that carry some sort of tone or pitch and (3) understands instruction given by parents, then the parents should not really worry too much about it. He/she is probably just a late talker. It is quite a relief for me after learning these, but I am getting very impatient with this waiting game...

Ah Dee....don't make mama wait around too long, will you!
